The ALIDP presents:
“Developing Tools to Implement LID Policy”
A Low Impact Development Workshop
November 27, 2008
Cochrane RancheHouse,
101 RancheHouse Rd, Cochrane, AB
8:00am – 4:30pm
The Alberta Low Impact Development Partnership Society is pleased to present a practical workshop to help municipal planners, developers and engineers implement LID strategies on the ground. Using the experiences of the Nose Creek Watershed Water Management Plan, we will examine and work through common and perceived challenges in LID design, policy implementation, and public perception of LID.
Participants are invited to bring their own experiences, challenges and solutions to share with their peers, LID professionals, and other resource people. Through this collaborative process, participants will begin to learn how to move beyond LID policies into practical, on-the-ground implementation that can be adapted to any jurisdiction. This workshop also provides an opportunity to network with peers and ask questions of LID experts. A summary report of workshop discussions, including criteria for evaluating LID-type projects, and common LID challenges and solutions will be distributed after the event, as part of a future “LID ToolKit.”
