Clean Runoff Action Guide
The Clean Runoff Action Guide is a document developed in cooperation with the Pigeon Lake Watershed Association. The Rain Garden section is provided here as an example of the type of information the guide contains. An updated version is available. Please contact the office.
This plain language, heavily illustrated guide is intended to provide an overview of practices that can be implemented both on private property. It attempts to strike a balance between answering what, why and how without overwhelming the reader. The Toolbox for Property Owners includes sizing guidance to capture the 90-95th percentile storm, which effectively controls volume on-lot to achieve water quality.
The other sections in the document include:
- Green Roofs
- Rainwater Harvesting
- Trenches and Soakaways
- Permeable Pavement
- Evaluating Your Site
