Aug 12 Things are very busy around here! The ALIDP Board of Directors met in Edmonton this week to do some strategizing and check in on progress at Larch Park. The ALIDP was invited by the developer of this subdivision, Melcor, to investigate opportunities in LID research and piloting. U of A faculty and students are already working hard on a number of ecological research initiatives and we hope to have some going soon on stormwater.

Website updating has not been as regular as planned due to efforts being directed towards the launch of our new improved site. We appreciate your patience in this transitional period.

July 28 Congratulations to ALIDP Secretary Lesley Kalmakoff on the receipt of her Professional Geoscientist designation!

June 28 Office closed for summer vacation. Re-opening July 27th.

June 24 Two new directors were elected at our AGM. Welcome Tony Druett and welcome back Judy Stewart. Both Liliana Bozic and Bert van Duin were re-elected for another two year term. Thanks to 34 members for coming out to vote and to all who stood for election. Apr 20 CASE STUDY presentations for our Red Deer forum following our AGM are set. Ion Irrigation will highlight some of their high-profile irrigation reuse projects and AMEC and Progressive Engineering will talk about their work at Currie Barracks in Calgary. Members: free. Non-members: $25 suggested donation at the door.

Mar 28 Thank you to Strathcona County for hosting our Lunch 'n' Learn on the 26th! Around 60 people were in attendance. The presentation is here. We are pleased to announce that the afternoon educational component following our AGM in Red Deer on May 13 will be dedicated to presentations and discussion about water re-use, including case studies.

Jan 15 Judy Stewart delivered an engaging and accessible talk on the Legalities of Rainwater Harvesting, with about 100 people in attendance at the Calgary Water Centre. (the sponge and the brick are rumoured to be making an appearance with live examples). Thanks to cooperation between the Nose Creek Watershed Partnership and Coca-Cola, rain barrels will be available for sale at this event. 10-2 pm. The ALIDP and City of Calgary are pleased to announce their partnership to deliver the 10th Annual Erosion and Sediment Control and Pollution Prevention Week entitled Construction and Beyond: Sustainable Practices for Runoff Management at the Glenmore Inn in Calgary. Two courses are being presented by the ALIDP: The ABCs of LID and Stormwater Treatment with Gary Minton.
